Are all ceramic mugs microwave safe?

From my observation, most manufactured glassware and mugs are microwave safe so long as they do not have metal gilding. A lot of companies still apply "microwave safe" labels to a lot of products, so you can still look on the bottom to be sure. On the other hand, hand made pottery tends to be less safe for microwaving.
