What is the difference between tea cups and coffee cups?

Difference between a tea cup, coffee cup, and chocolate cup. ... Tea cups have a wide open rim that tapers down to a small base and the handles are designed to hook a single finger. Coffee cups have a more vertical side and a bigger handle for two or three fingers. Coffee cup is on the left and tea cup is on the right.

Why are tea cups thin?

Porcelain cups typically are narrow at the bottom and widen out at the top; this enables a better balance between heat retention and expansion of the aroma of the tea.

How many cups is a regular coffee mug?

As Bill Wright noted in his thorough answer to this question, there isn't a firm standard for size of a “cup” of coffee. A standard fluid cup of liquid is 8 oz.; if I were measuring with that, the above mug would be something over 2 cups. Most coffeemakers use 5–6 fluid oz.

Why is coffee served with a saucer?

Though saucers were invented during the medieval times, it became popular to serve them with a cup of hot beverages during the colonial America period in an effort to allow those drinking the tea or coffee to not burn their mouth — the person being served the saucer and coffee cup would separate the two and pour small.

How long can I expect to get the sample?

After you pay the sample charge and send us confirmed files, the samples will be ready for delivery in 6-8 days. The samples will be sent to you via express and arrive in 3-5 workdays.

Can you match a specific color for the glaze on the mugs I am ordering?

Sorry, we cannot guarantee a perfect color match with our glazes due to the limited amount of glaze colors we have as well as the variation in the way our glazes can look on the final product due to the forces of mother nature.
